Director – Department of Economics and Management

Khazar University is seeking an experienced and academically engaged professional to join the School of Economics and Management as Department Director.

Key Responsibilities

Provide academic and administrative leadership for the Department of Economics and Management;

Lead the development and continuous improvement of academic programs and curricula in line with international standards and emerging trends;

Promote research activity and support publications in reputable international academic journals;

Develop academic and professional relationships with universities, industry, government institutions, and other relevant stakeholders;

Contribute to international academic partnerships and collaborative initiatives;

Support the strategic development and implementation of departmental goals in alignment with the University's overall strategy;

Represent the department in relevant academic and professional activities;

Prepare and provide relevant reports, proposals, and undertake other responsibilities related to the University's development as assigned by University leadership.

Support faculty development, collaboration, and a positive collegial working environment;

Qualifications & Experience

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field;

5+ years of relevant academic or professional experience;

Excellent command of English;

Demonstrated research and publication experience in reputable academic journals;

Experience in curriculum development aligned with international academic standards;

Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;

Ability to work effectively within deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities;

Strong commitment to collegiality, teamwork, and a positive academic environment.
